Design Services

  • Firstly, we gather all the information, inspiration and data we need to produce the design, including:

    • Budget/ timing constraints

    • Your vision + mood board imagery + brief

    • Site measurements

    • Determine your material preferences with samples'

    • Any other key information on the brief

  • We use the information we have gathered to produce a concept design.

Typically hand drawn or loosely modelled to keep things free and open while we hone in on the concept.

Generally concept design follows these three steps:

    1. We get a range of ideas quickly down on paper to allow us to swiftly hone in on the right option and eliminate dead ends. These are generally sent through email with follow up phone calls for fast and free collaboration.

    2. Present main concept option(s) with rough costings. We get one or two really great concept ideas together, and present them to you on video call or in person. These will include floor plans, rough 3D sketches, and material palette. Based on your preference and the rough costings, we select the best one and go back to the drawing board once more to make any final tweaks.

    3. We follow up with the final concept option. We attach to this a rough price guideline to ensure budget stays on track throughout the design process. Once approved, we move onto detailed design.

  • Detailed design is about honing in on the detail and producing drawings that we can all sign off on. What’s included:

    • Detailed drawings with measurements including 3D renders so you know what you are getting before it gets built.

    • “Construction” level of detail, meaning they can be used by other tradesmen/ contractors to build your project with.

    • They allow for an accurate quote to be formed so we can lock in on a final price with the final design

When finalised, we present the detailed design to you in person or on video call and will have a rough construction quote prepared.

Post meeting, we will finalise the drawings based on preferences around the design and cost and send through a final build quote and design to sign off on.

  • If we have a clear understanding of the project scope and budget, the design phase can be quoted based on 10-15% of this budget.

Alternatively we work on an hourly rate basis of $150/hr +GST

    Revisions as part of quote:

We offer one revision per design phase that is built into our process. Consistent communication and breaking down the design into phases, eliminates the need for multiple revisions.

Any major preferential or conditional changes to the design that require us to jump back to earlier phases will require adjustment to the quote or transition to hourly rate cost.
